Here are some fun facts I’m learning through the experience of Indian culture!

Squatty potties aren’t that bad…embrace the culture!

(Learn the squat)

Drink lots of water—temperatures are in the low 100’s

If you aren’t in a major city, you probably draw water from a well.

—there is an art to drawing water from a well with plastic buckets and you will master it

Kurtas are awesome!  Catch me in America with them!

Food tastes better with your hands….I mean hand!  (Right hand!!  Sorry lefties…that’s your wiping hand for the squatties)

Henna is cultural for special occasions!  Or just fun for tourists!

The hospitality is amazing!  And I’m learning to be served instead of serving.

–Also, don’t let them catch you standing—they hate to see guests not have a seat and even when you just want to stand….it’s polite to take the chair offered.

Chai! Is! Yummy!  And you will probably get it at least twice a day!

The driving isn’t so crazy (Peru….you have conditioned me)….but the crossing of streets is!

Don’t mind the gecko, lizards, or monkeys….they are normal.

Hand washing laundry isn’t bad (let’s go!  Month two of handwashing…and I’m sure more to come!)

Thumbs up—you will learn to love it.  It’s an equivalent to Pepsi/coke.

Embrace sharing.  Drinks, snacks…. Again, that hospitality!  Better master the fountain pour?

Having a blast! 🙂
