I wanted to update you all on my month 11 before it states, but didn’t get around to i. I’m hiking the
Camino from Port, Portugal to Santiago, Spain. I’m hiking with my squadmate Ashley. Today we ended day 3 at about 75 km… or 46.6 miles. We still have a bit to go to reach 280 km or about 174 miles.
God has already been working in our day to day from putting people in our paths, kindness from strangers, meeting other pilgrims, having God conversations, praying with others and so much more. Stay tuned!
I wanted this wAll to be a time spent with God and it has… praying through the pain, singing, and just seeing God in all his beauty. So here is a song I want to leave you with… enjoy!
(Also… please be praying for all of our blisters, joints and tendons, and bodily functions! It’s not a journey for the faint of heart!)
I see your face
In every sunrise
The colours of the morning
Are inside your eyes
The world awakens
In the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say
You’re beautiful
I see your power
In the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion
And galaxies are bright
We are amazed
In the light of the stars
It’s all proclaiming who you are
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful
I see you there
Hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died
And then you rose again for me
Now you are sitting on your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful
When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful
I see your face
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful
This I is beautiful!! Have fun bucking and praising God! Hope you don’t get rain like we are while you’re hiking!! Love ya!!
Thanks Sue! It’s calling for rain for the next week… but hoping God changes that!
Hi Kelly!
Grant and I will be praying for you and Ashley during your Camino walk!
We just finished visiting with our daughters and sons in Georgia, and during our drive down and back from Pennsylvania Grant and I listened to the audiobook – I’ll Push You – by Patrick Gray and Justin Skeesuck. These two best friends walked the Camino from beginning to end, one sitting in a wheelchair due to a degenerative disease and the other pushing him. This book is fantastic! It details their struggles, trials, laughter, miracles, and mostly the help, kindness. and encouragement of strangers along the way! (I recommend this book to everyone!) May you two ladies be a blessing and also blessed on this journey of a lifetime!
With love and prayers, Lori and Grant
Wow! I appreciate this message more than you can imagine! Thank you both and I cannot wait to tell you all about it when I return! The water bottle is coming in great use this month too 🙂
We are so proud of you. That you hiked the Camino and finished! It’s not easy (or everyone would do it). We are sure that your perseverance will show up in other areas of your life and pay off big time in the future. Congratulations lady!
