Last Saturday a small team of people were able to hand out some food to guys in Gahanga! Praise the Lord! One of the guys who received the love, continued to spread the wealth with a neighbor who was also struggling. LOVE DOES!
We just got word that another distribution will be happening tomorrow or Sunday. Where we are staying will be used as a base to make up the food “hampers” (baskets). Food will again be distributed to people in Gahanga and there might be a possibility of distributing some food to the women from our place. LOVE DOES!
Not only will the food distribution help people with physical hunger, but also spiritual! The people distributing food will be pouring out love, joy, peace, and hope! LOVE DOES!
Ash and I worked on a poster yesterday to help educate people on safety precautions. We are now Professional Poster Producers! 😉 LOVE DOES!
Please be praying. The buying and bagging of items will start in the morning on Saturday, and will either be handed out later that day or on Sunday. LOVE DOES!
Some Prayer Points:
- Ability to buy in bulk and at reasonable prices
- Quickness and Precision with making the hampers
- Safety/Health: For all distributing; all coming in and out of our sites
- Education! People receive it, understand it, and pass it along!
- Let us be written epistles for all to read…and see the love of the Father. If opportunities-share the gospel!
LOVE DOES
&
LOVE WINS!
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
For Christ died for sins once and for all, a good man on behalf of sinners, in order to lead you to God. He was put to death physically, but made alive spiritually. 1 Peter 3:18
*P.S. Bob Goff’s book Love Does is an excellent read. 🙂
Thanks for sharing how love does! Just was wondering who came up with the writing for the poster? Are you and Ash able to write in the local dialect?
Power of Love!!! The greatest of all!! WE are the Church!
