Day 10 Mougas to Nigrán 20km+
Walked by the coast in the morning.
Hiked hills and walked through the mountains most of the day. Thank you God for strong legs and lungs!!
At the top was a beautiful view!
God provided again for lunch… benches, the rain stopped. And the sun came out!
There was a race going on and people wished us “Buen Camino” as they were hugging and puffing. What a good reminder to not focus on yourself.
There were also teams of people and the guy would just gently touch the girl’s back when going up a hill… what another great reminder of God’s gentle nudges in our lives to encourage us to keep pressing on!
Didn’t find a store until after 3pm where we celebrated with eating a banana as soon as we got out.
The “marked” route took us the long way…the beautiful way…and the roundabout way. We literally walked in a circle at one point but found our way.
Carried groceries (at least 8lbs) for about 2 hours because we weren’t sure if there was a store where we were spending the night and didn’t want it to be a repeat of the night before.
Ended the day right at 6pm.
Four people who we spent the night with the night before were at the same albergue. They offered us chili but we denied it the first time. They offered again and invited us to eat with them and we denied it a second time (we were tired and just wanted some alone time and had sweet potatoes in the oven already).
A third knock… they gave us a bowl of chili to eat. We ate it with our meal we were preparing, washed the dishes, and then went to take the dishes back.
We sat down and were “interrogated” for about 2 hours. They asked a lot of questions.. we for to share about what we were doing, our faith, human nature of making mistakes and so much more. Even though we had been dead tired… God gave us the strength to chat until 11pm. They were so eager to hear…and to think, we almost missed an opportunity to share because of “tiredness”
What God Had Me Work Through Today:
Weariness: A long day where only His strength provided… hills, valleys, and late night conversations
Provision: Sometimes it’s delayed… but always sweet. We got great prices at the store with a ton of options… also, Chili from our friends!
Day 11 Rest Day at La Chica 0km
Our friends left their leftover chili… so we are well today.
This albergue is literally the best. We got our own private room with a kitchen and bathroom off of the bedroom…And for the same price as any other bed in the place.
It has heaters, a free washer, and is in a quiet neighborhood.
It’s homey…cozy…a perfect place to curl up with God and rest in Him.
God is good.
What God Had Me Work Through Today:
Grace: To forgive, let go, and move on.
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” 2 Corinthians 4:16.
Love your insights! Love the recognition of “almost missed” opportunities! God is so good! Really love the way you love and happy to hear how others are loving on you! May the favour continue!
Thank you Glenda:) hugs!!
Such great blessings and lessons. Thanks for being real!
