I’ve been back in Kenya for a few weeks now and I’ve been busy. I started a project that will be keeping me busy when I’m in Nairobi— I’ll share about that soon.

I went and visited friends in Tinderet for a week.  We went and visited a few people in the village and I learned a little about the Diguna ministry.  unfortunately because of COVID restrictions, things were still closed down a bit and I couldn’t get a real feel of how the ministry operates.  But, visiting the family was good. I got to bond with the kids a bit- especially Joshua. We made chapati together. I also made the family American pancakes. My last night there we had a group dinner with everyone at the ministry and a cultural night. It was neat to see some cultural dancing and learn a little about the different tribes.

After visiting with this family, I went to a wedding at the Athi River YWAM base, where I served in 2019.  It was a beautiful wedding and I was happy to attend with two good friends.

I just returned from Mombasa.  I traveled with my friend Joyce, who I met while at the Athi River Base in 2019.  God is so good with connections… her brother just happens to be doing the same DTS as Irene. So we traveled together to see them graduate. I was so happy that I was able to attend the joyous event.

I got to ride on the SGR train and crossed over water with the Likoni Ferry.  Two very new experiences. God was with Joyce and me as we travelled and we saw this in our ferry crossing experience. We arrived at the ferry and there were police guarding the entrance. They were asking people why they were crossing and we got denied entrance. As we were waiting and Joyce was making calls, another police officer called us over. He asked if I had my passport.  I showed it to him and he pointed to the date… he thought my passport was expired but he was looking at the date it was issued. After showing him the expiration date, he asked what I brought to share (he wanted a bribe).  Joyce boldly stated I was a missionary/preacher and we were just going to minister and then return. He let us go through in a different path and we were not questioned at all by the other people who previously stopped us.

Upon arrival at the base, Irene greeted us and took us to a bed where we rested. We were then able to catch up a little this morning before the graduation.

I’m now back in Nairobi preparing to head to Kitale so that Irene and I can travel and do ministry together in Pokot for a few weeks before I return to the states early December.

Our walk is all about relationship… sometimes just being there for these precious moments are ministry in themselves.
