Father’s Day.  It’s celebrated everywhere.  Some have never known their father.  Some, like me, have had time with their dad’s cut short.  Some have had unkind fathers and have never experienced the true love a father can give.  Some have men in their lives who are surrogates for dads.  Whatever your experience is—I want you to know that you have a Father who surpasses any characteristics an earthly man could produce and give.  Let me just share some things God-the perfect Father- wants you to know:

-You are my beloved child. 1 John 3:1

-I do not change like shifting shadows.  I am constant. I give good gifts. James 1:17

When you seek me with all your heart, you will find me.  Jeremiah 29:13

-I discipline you because I love you. Proverbs 3:11-12

-My plans are to make you prosperous, not to harm you.  Jeremiah 29:11

– I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love. 1 John4:16

-I care about you and every need that you have. Matthew 6:26

– I am your greatest encourager. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

-Trust me and my wisdom and strength.  It is far greater than human strength and knowledge. 1 Corinthians 1:25

-I know you better than any other person in the world.  Psalm 139

– As a shepherd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart. Isaiah 40:11

-You are made in my image. Genesis 1:27

I adopted you into my family and you are mine.  Ephesians 1:5

– I rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

-I am love.  I am patient and kind. I do not envy, or boast.  I am not proud. I do not dishonor others.  I am not self-seeking.  I am not easily angered, and I keep no record of wrongs. I do not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. I will always protect you.  You can trust me.  I give you hope and help you persevere.  Unlike everyone on Earth, I will never fail you. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

-I am preparing a special place for you…so that we can live together for eternity. John 14:2

-One day I will wipe away every tear from your eyes. Revelation 21:3-4
