First off…some World Race Lingo!

Squads are the larger group of Racers who travel together on the same route or trip.  My squad is S Squad (assigned the color green) and we have named ourselves Sojourners.  We have 39 racers!

Teams are smaller groups within the squad and are created with prayerful guidance to ensure the gifts and passions of each member work well together.  We have six teams!  Poiema, Papoula Fogo, Young Royalz, Rahkma Rua, Resurgent, and Valor.

Team leaders are selected by their squad leadership at training camp. They have an extra level of responsibility.  Our team leaders are: Laurie, Kristen, Michael, Ben, Tabitha, and Carly.

Treasurers keep the team’s money and make sure the team stewards it appropriately.  The treasures are: John, Jon, Julie, Anna, Katy, and Valerie.

Storytellers use photography, videography, and/or blogging to share stories about our ministry and encourage team members to do the same.  Ours are: Colby (who is also the head storyteller), Courtney, Will, Shelby, Emilie, and Aleesa.

Squad Leaders are World Race alumni.  They travel with the squad for the first five months, training team leaders and helping the squad learn the ropes. Then, these alumni Squad Leaders raise up new Squad Leaders from the Racers on the squad.  Our Squad leaders are: Nick, Brittany, Lynna, and Madison.

Mostly Off The Field, But They Have CRITICAL Roles:

Admissions Advisors help you get everything together you need to actually get on the field. This includes passport and visa needs, fundraising help, answering questions, and so much more.  Mine is Drew!

Squad Mentors lead your squad from a mentorship position. The Squad Mentor leads the squad remotely throughout the year and is in constant communication with the leadership on the field. A Squad Mentor will join the squad on the field for various lengths of time throughout duration of the trip.  My Squad Mentor is TT!

Squad Administrators handle the logistic components for your squad and will occasionally join the squad on the field.  RaeLynn is our SQA, whom I will be working closely with as a Squad Logistics Coordinator.

Squad Coaches offer spiritual guidance and prayer support for your squad. Coaches are usually a married couple with wisdom to offer and a desire to pour into the next generation. They travel to the field multiple times throughout the trip to help debrief with the squad in person.  Darla and Chris are our Squad Coaches.  They also have a special task of training Mark and Kathy who will be squad coaches in the future and tagging along for some of our debriefs.

NOW, “Meet” my squad aka FAMILY for the next 11 months!!!
