Meet Mango. We went to the women’s conference with him as our main driver. I’ve had him before too. He makes sure the car is full of gas —to the point of shaking the vehicle to get every last drop. We are going to Pokot after all— the desert land where not much grows and gas is hard to find. He also gives the tires some air and does some other checks. He remembered me and wanted to know if I remembered him as well (of course I did— he had bought me some bananas on the way last time and made sure I was well taken care of). He is known by all the town people- everywhere we went. He’s been driving for 15 years. I trusted him in the Pokot desert when we were traveling in some territories that aren’t well traveled by vehicles—to the pavement roads. We put our trust in him to get us there safely... but who do you put your entire trust in daily? There is only one person who can truly never fail you. Humans have selfish desires; we make mistakes; we have a sin nature... But God. He will never leave you. He will fight for you. His timing might be different than yours. His plan might look a little different than you planned. BUT, He always makes sure you arrive to your destination at the right and proper time—maybe a few bumps along the way— but never lose hope. Keep the faith. There is always beauty in the journey. Just take the time to find it. God loves you and is for you.
