Day 18 Vilanova de Arousa to A Faramello Boat plus 12km

We took an hour boat ride to Padrón and it was with many pilgrims we had met along the way the last few days.

The captain was kind and stopped randomly to tell us information on things we were seeing.  We also had a croissant with tea to end the ride.

It rained all day. A majority of the group stayed in Padrón but Ashley and I walked another 10 km.

We took a break under an overpass for lunch.

We were able to talk with “T” a young man from Utah about God for over an hour when we arrived at our albergue.

What God had me work through:

Not getting a certificate: there was an opportunity to get a certificate saying that we did the spiritual route.  After much debate, we decided to forgo the certificate.  Not everything in life is about what’s on paper. We have the memories and in 10 years, will anyone really care?

Day 19 A Faramello to Santiago de Compostela 14km

No rain today!

Thankful we split up this last part between yesterday and today so we didn’t have to do almost 25 km.

Sang with Ash for about a 1/3 of it.

Arrived at the Cathedral a little after noon on 11/11.  I then realized… 11 more days until we head home and what a great way to end the world race adventures…11n11 on 11/11

Michael was there waiting for us because he knew our big group had our last leg today!  He took pictures for us and helped us get our documentation that we did the Camino!

280km!

Found a nice albergue: Roots and Boots and made ourselves at home!

What God had me work through:

The end.  Still processing this… but it’s hard to believe that one door is closed (the Camino), another is closing (the World Race), and that more doors will be opening (going home, Rwanda in February….)

Blessed beyond belief

  1. So cool to hear all of this, Kelly! ?? It would be so awesome to catch up during your time back in the states! ??

  2. Congrats Kelly. You and Ash had a beautiful Camino. So jealous you all got a boat ride complete with tea at the end. The seeds you planted, watered, and fertilized along the way will yield the very best fruit for Jesus!
